Yerel Rehberler Dünyası

They've been around since the 800s so it makes sense that they'd have good food! The restaurant opens for lunch, closes, and then opens for dinner. I highly recommend you make reservations for your visit because it is very popular. For lunch you can walk in for a table without trouble. Dinner, you can't. The seating is pretty much all outdoors but covered by a concrete or uncovered in a courtyard. It's all open air. If you don't want to pay the high menu prices stick to deserts because they're very good, especially the apple strudel. Skip the soups. Staff is nice and does speak English.
Hellbrunn Palace

This is a beautiful compound where you can easily spend a few hours. The interior of the estate is beautiful and informative. You'll tour multiple floors and learn about the Prince Archbishop that created the estate. Outside the gardens are gorgeous. You'll love being exposed to the meadows, flowers, ponds, and even memorabilia from The Sound of Music. Behind the palace are the trick fountains. Those require a timed ticket which is worth your money and time. It's easily the highlight of your visit so book early or spend time exploring the garden until your entry time. The gift shop is pricey but cute. Restrooms are available for free and staff does speak English.
Tab Tim II

Tab Tim serves up Thai food in area where there's a need for something different. It's nice that they're here and offer indoor and outdoor seating. The employees are all nice and seem to speak English even with a hard accent. The menus are in German so prepare to need a translation if you don't speak that. The green and the masaman curries were very very watery oily but did taste good. They were simply very thin and not what we expected. We saw an employee carrying frozen veggies but we're not sure if they're used in all dishes or if some use fresh veggies. They offer an extensive menu but also have a daily special menu which is MUCH cheaper. Order from that if you'd like to save money - like, a lot.
This is a free museum that has many works of arts. You'll find replicas of famous sculptures, portrait galleries, and even youth works. It's an okay museum but could be better with more works. It just felt a little empty. There are multiple levels including a basement. Restrooms are free, but be aware there is no toilet paper in the stalls - it's near the sinks. Backpacks aren't allowed inside and there are no English translations available for much of anything.
Plaza de Armas

Nice spot in the center of town featuring tons of indoor attractions next to the plaza. You'll find everything here from street performers to vendors, to tourist info, to really good smelling flowers. The bus ticket office is also nearby. You're almost certain to visit when visiting Santiago.
