I wish we'd been able to see everything in all 3 buildings, but alas, only time for the West Block. The way they created a new House of Commons in the courtyard is incredible. But that is about all you see... too bad. Made an impact on our oldest son, seeing the seat of government really seemed to twig something in him. Curious where that may lead...
Best. Part. Of. Our. Trip.

Hands down. We loved it, this was a really cool slice of history, REAL history, that you could walk around in and explore. We spent close to 2 hours there, wandering through all the rooms, reading all the exhibits, soaking up the general vibe. It was amazing to see so much of it all just left there, in place, for us to see all these years later. Just walking down the blast tunnel and going through the big vault doors, that really set the tone for the rest of it. No guides, no staff, no one to distract you from going at your own pace and checking everything out. More than enough signs and plaques to explain everything, we weren't left with any questions at the end. Though, if this bunker is closed, where is the current one for current PMs?
Pretty good roundup of the history of our country from the first native peoples through to today. Covers everything from totem poles to Bob & Doug Mackenzie. Such an odd and interesting shaped building. Lots of volume of space, fewer exhibits than you might expect. Certainly worth seeing if you are in the area. Not many other museums devoted solely to our country.
