On a cool November evening we decided to focus on hot dishes at Hachi Hana. We ordered chicken yakisoba, spicy agedashi tofu, BBQ salmon cheeks and belly and the Hachi Hana sushi combo. The yakisoba came out sizzling hot; a fairly generous portion and quite tasty. And proper buckwheat soba noodles. The salmon was likewise a good portion. Would have been perfect if the skin was crunchier. Not much to say about the agedashi and sushi. The agedashi had just the right amount of broth so the tofu stayed nice and crisp. The sushi combo was fresh and good value.

Service was attentive and polite. We were cheerfully greeted on entry, the server helpful about menu questions and tea was refilled promptly.

Overall a very good experience and will return again.

This place is reassuringly expensive! Not the cheapest sushi restaurant, but in my top 3 favourites in North Van. The spicy chopped scallop roll was incredible!!

The sushi was amazing but what made the experience even better was our server Yeonjee! She was the best! We will be back again!

Delicious! Very high quality ingredients and great value. Maybe 50 cents extra but twice as good as other places. Salmon avocado rolls are the best I’ve ever had. Very generous with salmon and avocado (while other places are mostly rice) and the salmon is wild sockeye - so tasty!

The food is great, it's fresh and the workers at the sushi bar always greet you when you come in. And if you're a regular, they give you free complimentary

Portions are extremely small and expensive. I don't suggest this restaurant if you are hungry. The food was relatively good. We basically paid for the presentation of the food. We paid around $50 for the food in the picture and we were pretty hungry when we left the restaurant.

Amazing value for the price, they give you a lot of sashimi and the pieces are very big. They do have some interesting rolls, where it’s kind of gimmicky.
The quality of the food could be better, the soft shell crab had a bad taste to it. Which just means that it wasn’t fresh and the sushi itself was not overly special. I wouldn’t come again, mainly because of the quality. But overall, not a bad restaurant. I quite enjoyed the music they had playing here and the ambience was good.
